About SRIS

SRIS is a reseach project about Slippery Road Information System in real-time. In this project the following parts collaborate, IVSS, SAAB, Caran, Vägverket, Combitech, Klimator, WM-data, Bilia and CaranEis.

Vision

The vision of SRIS is to optimize winter maintenance in regard of accurate operations as well as affect drivers to adjust their driving according to prevailing road conditions by the help of expanded road information in user-friendly devices and applications. The vision is to save lives and at the same time give a greater sense of security and control, as well as decreased cost for winter maintenance and accident managements.

Objective

The objective with the project is to develop a model which integrates the information from RWIS along with cars and information from maintenance activities.
